U.S. fines Takata $70 million, bans ammonium nitrate in its air bags
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration imposed a $70 million fine on Takata Corp, the air bag maker that provided defective air bags for car manufacturers that recalled their vehicles since 2008 due to accidents caused by the defective air bags and is ordered to stop manufacturing inflators that has ammonium nitrate.
