Aloft Hotels Emoji Room Service: Get What You Need In Your Hotel At Your Finger Tips

Aloft Hotels' Emoji Room Service called "Text It, Get It" or "TiGi" for short, is the hotel's newest trick to enhance the customer's hotel experience.

Launched on Wednesday, Oct.21, Aloft Hotels' Emoji Room Service is an easy and fun way to get what you need without the need to call the front desk. The hotel guest could simply text his chosen emoji from the list of six packages written in the menu, with his name and room number. Every room has a menu list, where the guest could choose from that includes "the sightseer," "the re:fresh," "the hangover," "the munchies," "phone charger," and "surprise me," according to Mashable.

"Our guests can now talk to us like they talk to each other" Paige Francis, Vice President Of Global Marketing for Starwood Hotels said.

At present, Aloft Hotels' Emoji Room Service is only limited to "the hangover," "the munchies," and the "surprise me" packages, according to Stuff. "The hangover" includes 2 bottles of vitamin water, an Advil and 2 bananas for $10; "The munchies" include Coca Cola, Doritos, Snickers and Chocolate Brownie for $10 and the "Surprise me" is a fun swag and cool stuff for $25.

Aloft Hotel was not the first one to take services into the next level.  Fooji, a service where people can text an emoji to order the food they want in San Francisco, Chicago and New York has started in July. Domino's Pizza has also tried the emoji way by allowing a customer to order pizza by just texting an emoji, according to Tech Times.

Aloft Hotels' Emoji Room Service is available only at its Manhattan Financial District location. However, future plans include rolling out of the new technology into the hotel's branches in Europe, Asia and the rest of the U.S. within the coming weeks.
