Android users can now enjoy HBO Now - a streaming service that allows subscribers to have access on its library, browse its original programs and films. It is a standalone service, and will be available to non-Apple users this coming June or July.

HBO Now announced that it will be soon available on Google Play Store, along with its streaming device Chromecast. HBO Now debuted on Apple TV, and signed a 3-month contract with Apple. Google senior VP Sundar Pichai said at the Google I/O developers conference that the company will bring HBO Go and HBO Now to Android televisions.

Priced at $15 per month, customers can watch HBO Now through their Android devices. Because the streaming service is standalone, it doesn't require a pay-tv subscription.

"We're looking forward to expanding our relationship with Google through HBO Now. We have seen through social media that there is great demand for the service among Android and Chromecast users, and we're excited to deliver HBO Now to them," said Bernadette Aulestia, executive VP of domestic network distribution for HBO.

Meanwhile, Google will update the interface of Play Store, working on improving its search function for users to locate apps easily. "Family Star" will also be added on Google Play for the users to know the best family and kid-friendly app. Parents can now know if a certain app is suitable for their children, not to mention Google's plan on labeling apps which are ad-supported.

Thousands of HBO originals can be accessed through HBO Now, watch select series like the very popular 'Game of Thrones', 'Sex and the City,' 'Girls,' 'True Blood and 'Veep.'

Meanwhile, Google also talked about taking Youtube and Google Maps offline. In this case, you do not need an internet connection anymore to navigate Maps because before the year ends, storing map locations offline will be possible already.
