The New Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort: Jimmy Buffett-themed resort officially opens with the star taking the stage

Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort just launched its way to the public. And though it rained, it didn't stop Jimmy Buffet from performing at the opening of the Margaritaville Beach Resort.

According to Skift, Buffet's new $150 million attraction that features nearly 350 rooms, eight bars and a spa. Jimmy Buffet claimed as he kicked off his performance, "It's those changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes, nothing remains quite the same."

As soon as Buffet opened the Margaritaville, he took the stage for a blowout in Hollywood on Saturday afternoon. Buffett also performs at a concert during the official launching of the Margaritaville Beach Resort.

On the Broadwalk in front of Margaritaville, the official grand opening of the Buffett-themed resort now stands as the beach's main attraction. The $150 million resort offers more than just 349 rooms, eight bars and a spa, it's also classified as a first-class tourist destination. "Let's put the top down on this place!" Buffett shouted to start off the one and a half-hour free concert.

The  two mammoth digital screens were placed on the sand of the beach, which was towering over the beach's iconic little Bandshell. According to Salon, the Bandshell,  which was built in the 1970s, will also feature local music for a couple of nights in a week, but it is now managed by the new Margaritaville. Buffett joked that he finally got to play the iconic Bandshell,  which is considered as one of the few remnants of the old Hollywood."I finally get to play the Bandshell," Buffett joked as he took the center stage.

Moreover, the Miami Herald reports the city contributed more than $20 million to the project. The mayor is also hoping that it will transform the area into a more sophisticated vacation escape with a Caribbean-themed vibe. "Margaritaville is the classic case of 'it takes money to make money,' " Mayor Peter Bober said in his quarterly Q&A column in Cahoots, a local newspaper that serves the beach.

As the new resort launched its way to Hollywood, a lot of locals as well as guests who have vacationed in Hollywood beach for decades are delighted to witness the beach's new look, agreeing that it was time for the city to finally develop. They also hopes that the corporate side of Margaritaville will not strip the beach's  warm welcome to people that attracted the to the beach in the first place.
