Recently, the American's plan of providing a limited Flagship lounge in Dallas has been confirmed. Moreover, these American's Flagship Lounges are considered as their first class lounges at DWF.  

American will be opening a Flagship Lounge inside the "D" Concourse Admirals Club at DFW Airport on November 3, 2015. Via American's DFW lounge webpage, American announced, "Commencing November 3, select international passengers can enjoy exclusive access to Flagship Dining, our premium dining experience inside our Terminal D Admirals Club location at DFW."

The management  also added that the invited guests include passengers on eligible international itineraries traveling to/from Europe, Asia, Central and South America and Mexico City who are either traveling in First Class on American Airlines or oneworld marketed and operated flights, or AAdvantage Executive Platinum or oneworld Emerald members traveling in any cabin.

Flagship lounges are open to international first class passengers, first class passengers on American's New York JFK, Los Angeles and San Francisco flights, top tier 100,000 mile flyers traveling same-day international, and oneworld emeralds' top tier elite members of their oneworld partner airlines.

American didn't actually replace its first class lounge with the opening of the New International Terminal. Dallas used to have a first class lounge in the A terminal, as mentioned by One Mile At A Time. It's still functioning in the Admirals Club, a separate room, that seemingly no one ever uses.  And once the D terminal opened as the international terminal in 2005, there was no more need for a first class lounge in A. And American opened its Admirals Club in DC but without a Flagship Lounge.

The special Flagship area in Dallas has been completed, with its new offer to the customers, including is a Flagship Dining Area inside the Admirals Club in Terminal D. Flagship Dining will be available to the public that would otherwise have access to a Flagship Lounge. Passengers traveling to or from: Europe, Asia, Central and South America and Mexico City and are booked either in 3-cabin first class or have American Executive Platinum status regardless of class of service can avail the dining experience.

Previously, American moved away from international first class. Once its Boeing 777-200s are done getting reconfigured with new business class seats they won't operate the first class any longer. The only planes left with international first class will be Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, most of which will be going to London, although there are departures from Dallas with the aircraft as well, as reported to View From The Wing.

According to Skift, American strongly opposed to the airport authority's leasing space to American Express for its Centurion lounge. Probably, American has gotten out ahead of the airport authority's plan for a new premium lounge by agreeing to operate one of its own in the terminal.

Meanwhile, rumors were circulating in the past that the Flagship Dining Room is temporary. American could probably build a separate Flagship Lounge in the future in Dallas. For the meantime, the official opening day of the newest American Flagship Lounge will be on November 3, but they are now beginning  to invite customers while they are gearing up the new facility.
