Oculus Story Studio Introduces a New Fuzzy Character for Oculus Rift

Oculus Story Studio has released a new virtual reality movie for the Oculus Rift featuring a charming quill-covered animated character, Henry the hedgehog.

Lance Ulanoff of Mashable was the first to share an in-depth account of his experience of the virtual reality story with the Oculus Rift. And from his article, it appears that the hedgehog's story is something Oculus fans will thoroughly enjoy when it comes out next year.

Ulanoff describes the character as looking somewhat like a "Rocher caramel-covered chocolate" with "a small, yet impressively flexible mouth and two large and very expressive eyes."

The story starts off on the sad side, with Henry feeling down from not having friends. For a spiky little creature, it has a penchant for giving hugs, which is likely the reason for his lack of companions.

Despite the heart-rendering start to the story, Ulanoff does assure readers that the end was as satisfying as any other Pixar-made story out there, which is probably because the people behind the animation were also formerly working under Pixar.

Ulanoff also shares that the team behind Henry are working on five other virtual reality films that aim to captivate people and give the full VR experience, as well as provide a story that is both "touching" and "engrossing".

Aside from the news about their latest VR story, Oculus Rift has another exciting development going on. With the recent boom of virtual reality and dramatically elevating interest from fans all over the world, the consumer version of Oculus Rift is expected to sell over five million units upon its release next year, according to KitGuru.Net.

The company has yet to announce an exact release date, but their official website, Oculus.com, does guarantee that it should be within the first quarter of 2016.
