Bob Iger, Disney CEO and chairman, announced in front of 8,000 fans in the D23 expo that Star Wars will soon be part of their theme parks specifically in Orlando, Florida and Anaheim, California. Iger added that they were not just excited to make new films but were as excited to bring Star Wars into all corners of Disney.

The new theme park will have a signature attraction, anticipated to be guests' ability to control starship freighter, Millennium Falcon. Although it is still not known how the ride will be constructed, Iger said that guests will be able to fly on different secret missions. Iger added that the Falcon will take the guests amidst an aerial battle.

Iger said that the new theme parks will not only be big but will also bring guests to an entirely different world. Each theme park will have an area of 14 acres considered as Disney's largest ever themed parks. This new world will be occupied by various creatures and stores and restaurants will be run by these inhabitants. No one and nothing in the park will be out of the theme, Iger assured.

Guests should expect familiar attractions such as a cantina as seen in the original Star Wars in the 70s and other creatures not yet portrayed in the latest Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens.

There is no timeline yet for the new attractions, but guests can expect to have more Star Wars before the theme parks are set. Bob Chapek, parks and resorts chairman of Disney, said that part of their advertisement of Season of the Force, their indoor roller coaster Space Mountain will be transformed into Hyperspace Mountain.

Other Star Wars attractions include 3D Star Tours, a simulation that will include new characters from the latest Star Wars movie, a restructured Jedi Training Camp and a new Star Wars Launch Bay.
