Larger McDonald's Closes, 'The Ever Largest Era' Awaits

McDonald's has shut down operations in the restaurant and entertainment complex on the International Drive tourism corridor in Florida for good on Wednesday night. The fast food shop and adjacent play zone with area of 12,000 square feet,ranks as the world's largest of such kinds.

The fast food pioneer has been voted the "Best Kid ­Friendly Dining" & "Best McDonald's to Play In", census conducted by the Orlando Sentinel and the Travel Channel. The iconic establishment, structured like a giant box of French fries, is being replaced with a new building next door.

The McDonald's building in Florida has first initiated operations in 1976. Besides the restaurant itself, the McDonald's offered other activities, such as bowling, slides and video games and has set itself as the staple entertainment and food court in I- Drive adjacent areas, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

McDonald's is the world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries across more than 36,000 outlets. Oerther Foods Inc., owning and operating authority of the burger chain's Florida chapter has nearly finished developing the new state of the art infrastructure.

Arcade, animatronics robot, bowling court and other offered features have attributed the fast food giant uniqueness among the tourists. But the owning authority has picked this moment as the perfect time to go through massive renovation. The new establishment will consist with area of 19,000 square feet (1765 square meters), according to a report published in The Daily Telegraph.

Oerther Food owners have reportedly kept mum on attractive features to be offered inside the new restaurant. But a brief narration on upcoming attractions is available in its official website McFun.

The second phase story of McDonald's Florida chapter is going to represent the new arcade with more than 100 games featuring favorites like Guitar Hero, Fruit Ninja. A gigantic 'Connect Four' is all set to deliver virtual tickets against McFun cards.

The virtual tickets may even be redeemed for huge prizes in the redemption center on the 3rd level. The renovated entertainment zone will also feature a two lane bowling alley on the first floor for families to test their skill.

The Food Menu will offer McDonald's favorites plus, chef­ prepared Bistro Gourmet Menu. It will also feature award winning pasta, pizza, Panini, specialty sandwiches, decadent deserts. The gourmet breakfast will include Belgium waffles, omelets and McDonald's Signature Ham & Cheese French Toast.

McDonald's Florida chapter, recognized as the world's largest fast food and entertainment court, has shut its operations on Wednesday in a bid to go through massive renovation. The new state of the art establishment is believed to surpass the existing popular iconic image of French Fries Box.
