Apple Ends Beats Music Era on Nov. 30

Apple, the tech giant is striving to launch new updated technologies, but this marks the end of the era of the previous 'old' ones.

According to App Advice, the music streaming service Apple Beats Music, which was acquired last year in May, along with Beats Electronics for $3 billion is officially shutting down on the  30th of November this year. It was announced on the Beats Music 'support webpage', by customer experience manager Dale Bagwell.

He said, "All the pros that curated music for you are still crafting more amazing experiences. Plus, on Apple Music, you'll get even better recommendations based on the music you already listen to and love, 24/7 global radio with Beats 1, exciting material from your favorite artist, and more,"

However, Cupertino, California-based Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the move.

The document offers a link to the Apple Music webpage where customers can take the streaming service for a three-month test drive if they haven't already done so, Apple Insider.

Last year, Apple purchased Beats for $3 billion, meshing both the company's hardware and software units, as well as high-profile executives Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre and Trent Reznor. Curation and playlist generation technology from the Beats Music service, a minor player in the streaming music industry, was subsequently injected into Apple Music while the Beats by Dre audio brand still lives on under Apple. But with the onset of Apple Music, which is now also available on Android, Beats is just counting its remaining days.

Apple Music offers the variety of features which includes musical recommendations based on songs, which are purchased from Apple's iTunes Store, ripped from CDs or can also be chosen on-demand from an online catalog of more than 30 million titles. The facility also includes a 24/7 radio station called Beats 1 and a service called Connect, where artists can present themselves to fans and share a song directly to their iPhone.

As mentioned by CNet, "Since Apple Music launched in June, 6.5 million people signed on as paying members", said CEO Tim Cook last month, 'with another 8.5 million people participating in the music service's 90-day free trial. That compares with 25 million paid members to rival music service Spotify, which has 75 million total people tuning in, after accounting for free listening."

After hearing about the deadline, it's time to make a switch from Beats Music account to Apple Music. Using the migration assistant in Beat Music app, the user can move his picks and preferences and move before the scheduled shutdown date of Beat Music. According to App Advice, Apple Music does not offer streaming of songs to the Sonos wireless speaker system, like in Beat Music. However, it is expected to start supporting Sonos before the end of the year.
