Apple's new iOS9 dominates 66% seven weeks after release

So far, 66 percent of compatible devices are running Apple's latest iOS9, showing superiority in keeping its mobile platform fresh, beating Google's Android OS in so many ways.

Forbes reported that Apple's new iOS 9 has dominated the marketplace just seven weeks after its release. Meanwhile, Lollipop only has 23.5 percent of the market and it has already been a year after its release. This emphasizes Android's inability to provide updates to its firmware or fix security issues. Both operating systems have their own share of issues and vulnerabilities, but Apple can easily fix them through an OS update, while Google's remedies will have to go through the politics of the Android ecosystem.

"IOS 9 is packed with intelligence that makes every experience with iPhone and iPad even more powerful - Siri can do more than ever and new proactive assistance helps you get more done before you ask, all while protecting users' privacy," said  Apple Software Engineering senior vice president Craig Federighi in a report by Know Your Mobile. "With iOS 9 we focused on strengthening the foundation of iOS with a deep focus on quality, and with the help of more than one million users who participated in our first ever public beta program, we're excited to release the best version of iOS yet."

ValueWalk tried to compare Android 6 and iOS 9 and there are advantages each OS can offer. Android still uses Google's Material Design. Meanwhile, Apple injects sophisticated creativity in its design as usual, and efficiently lives up to it. When it comes to customization, Android 6 has the upper hand compared to iOS9. Meanwhile, Google Now is updated and is independent from the Andorid operating system. This software is even available in iOS, but Apple still encourages users to go for its Siri. Google and Apple are improving their native applications. However, iOS has the advantage because its stock apps are updated along with the OS itself.

Ultimately, Android 6 is still more customizable between the two OSs, but iOS 9 offers a more unified and private experience.
