Facebook Business Page gets a Mobile Friendly Update

Facebook released a new tweak for its platform on Tuesday. The latest tweak aim at making business pages running on the platform become mobile friendly. Through this update, Facebook hope that the platform will become more relevant for business owner as more tools and feature will be added in the future to help make the platform as the go-to website for businesses and customer.

Through the latest tweak, 45 million businesses on Facebook will be able to customize their page from the "about us", "pictures" and "post" to cater the mobile users. Businesses can also create a better catalogue of their product and services through this update.

A mobile friendly update for businesses is needed considering there are 655 million users check out the platform via mobile devices. VentureBeat also reported that more than 1 billion Facebook visitors visit the platform's pages section alone.  

To make the platform more appealing, Facebook had also introduced the shop and services section for businesses where the pages will come with an e-commerce capability allowing the customer to shop product directly through Facebook. Through this move, Facebook will help the business owner to technically own their own mobile devices shop apps where a customer can shop through it. As the company's Director of Global Partnerships said, "We can be the mobile solution for businesses."

Entrepreneur said that new tools such as "contact us" will see user can directly make a call to the businesses and the "send message" feature will enable businesses to interact directly to customer without having to communicate on the comment section.

With this, Facebook will be able to drive more visitor to their pages instead of businesses own website helping to make Facebook stay relevant. Although the platform provided is free of charge, the ads sale obtain from the growing businesses on the platform will be huge according to Fortune.

Facebook strategy is clear since the company had also made a change on their cost per click advertisement service (CPC) early summer this year. The latest change will see advertiser will be charged not only on website clicks within the ads but also when users hitting a call to action button and other things within the ads. Besides that, Facebook had also upgraded the advertising tool giving businesses more data relevant to make their campaign successful.

Besides in advertisement, Facebook is also planning to upgrade their messaging platform to enable users to send money to others including businesses. Even the messenger app have been updated with digital services inside it enabling users make a purchase through it.
