Tim Cook, Apple's CEO was spotted visiting the BMW's production area in Leipzig, Germany. There are rumors that Apple is planning to develop its own car based on BMW's i3 technology given that Apple is working out on Project Titan.

BMW and Apple are currently in talks regarding the assimilation of the BMW's i3 technology in the Apple Car. The Manager Magazine broke the news that Tim Cook, Apple's CEO had visited its production in Leipzig, Germany.

It appears that the carbon fiber electric car enthused Tim Cook since Apple is targeting driverless smart cars in 2020. However, BMW denied that the electric car will be the future iCar. Though he said BMW will be willing to have Apple's OS on their automotive lineup.

Green Car Reports affirmed that BMW's next plan is to improve both the i3 and i8 plug-in hybrid sports car with bird-wing doors. It is set to be applied to other models as well considering that the plug-ins hit the sales in America. So it seems that the car manufacturer will be the strongest competitor of Apple in the years ahead.   

Apple is hiring hundred workers from the automotive industry, including the ex-Senior Vice President of Chrysler, Doug Betts. Rumors said that this is a hidden endeavor of Apple. Paul Furgale, a veteran on Autonomous System Lab at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland was also hired.

In the past, some of the previous efforts from Apple had led to a lawsuit most recent of which is from A123, a manufacturer for high-end batteries claiming Apple poached their assembly of experts, including the chief technology officer, Mujeeb Ijaz, who happened to work at Ford Motor Company and had studied advanced lithium-ion batteries for Formula 1 Racing.
