German automaker BMW on Wednesday unveiled its latest version of its BMW 7 Series at its global headquarters in Munich. The BMW 7 Series is top of the line luxury sedan and is a status symbol, especially in European countries. 

The BMW 7 Series (2016 edition) is much sportier than its predecessors. The new 7 Series is also lighter and has been loaded with the latest gadgets and technologies. 

The latest offering in the 7 Series from BMW is built around a new "carbon core passenger cell" made from carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), which is lighter and stronger than steel and aluminium. CFRP technology has been used to keep the weight of the new 7 Series model to its lowest so as to increase the safety of the car and to give it a boost in performance and efficiency.

The CFRP technology will be seen across BMW 7 Series and it will also follow in the rest of the BMW lineup. BMW has invested in carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) technology as it wants to bring the cost of production down. In the near future we may see the technology trickle down to each and every car that BMW manufactures.

Use of technology by the German automaker does not stop here; the sedan also gets a gestures control, which lets the driver control the volume of the stereo and phone calls without touching a control, reported by Crave Online.

Mashable said that users can also incorporate their personalised gestures associated with various functions of the car. It also said that backseat passengers can us the seven-inch tablet to control most of the function inside the car, excluding the gas, brakes and steering. 

Some of the features in the new BMW 7 Series (2016 edtion) are air suspension, automatic parking, WiFi, massage seats, active aerodynamics, panoramic sunroof, interior mood lighting, gesture control and surround sound audio system.

Also the new BMW 7 Series is offering new self-driving abilities. The new BMW 7 series will also have a front crossing traffic warning and active Lane Keeping Assistance. Traffic Jam Assistant will drive the car for you in heavy traffic, pacing the car in front at up to 37 mph.

The price of BMW 7 Series starts at $81,300 and it will arrive in showrooms this autumn. 

The hybrid version of new BMW 7 series, which will be powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder and an electric motor will also arrive in showrooms this autumn.
