Microsoft is definitely buying 6wunderkinder, the company behind Wunderlist, source says

By Staff Writer

Software and computer-maker Microsoft is nearly sure to acquire 6wunderkinder for roughly $250 million. 6wunderkinder is the company behind award-winning app Wunderlist.

WONDERFUL LIST OF SOFTWARES

Microsoft will have an addition to its huge list of software products as it is almost in the process of buying the German-owned 6wunderkinder, the brains behind Wunderlist. Wunderlist is a personal or business task-management application.

A report says Microsoft is buying the said company for approximately $250 million (£161 million). Compared to other task managers, Wunderlist can be used in all other platforms such as Android, iOs and Windows phone and in various devices such as cellphones, laptops, desktops, tablets, Kindle and other devices. The said app has won awards, one of which is the Best of 2013 on the Mac App Store.

The report also said that purchasing the Berlin-owned company might be harder for Microsoft compared to its usual process of acquisition especially because of stricter policies in Germany.

2 APPS IN 1

Another report said the two companies are already in talks about the acquisition. Wunderlist is seen as a promising and helpful tool for Microsoft's other applications that consumers and businesses would benefit from, citing Wunderlist's simplicity, user-friendliness, and its 11 million user base.

Last week, 6wunderkinder announced the incorporation of Wunderlist inside Microsoft's Sunshine, a calendar app the latter bought in the early part of this year.

Wunderlist said that with the integration of the two apps, Wunderlist's to-dos can be seen in Sunrise's calendar and users can add to-dos directly to Sunrise. The task manager will make it more organized with the presence of a calendar.

Another source says though that Wunderlist nor Sunrise do not have a more advance task management or calendar service compared to other apps.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has yet to issue an official announcement to confirm its plans to buy 6wunderkinder.
